Mossy Oak Camouflage has a cool slogan. They say, “It’s not a passion, it’s an obsession.” I’d be willing to bet that many deer hunters who consider themselves highly involved in the sport would agree with that statement.
The story of my biggest buck of 2016 and the events that led to that great hunt.
Deer hunters are unique. We can be the most optimistic people despite overwhelming odds and terrible conditions that would tell any sane person today is not the day for this.
A late season rattling session leads to heartbreak.
Last day of rifle season. Expectations were low but I was out there, sitting against my tree on cold, breezy December morning before daylight. My dad had dropped me off and headed up the mountain on the 4-wheeler. It was damp, but the leaves still had a little crunch to them. Daylight was close
The bucks that for sure made it through.
While not always crisp photos, the ones like below let us know which bucks that we had been watching survived hunting season. Here's what made it through the 2016-2017 hunting season. Lots of potential for 2017-2018!
